Depending on the type of breakaway installed, some units are reattachable while others are throwaway type. This can still be rather expensive if the breakaway must be replaced. First you have the cost of the breakaway, then you should consider the cost of a professional repair tech plus travel time too and from the location. This could easily run several hundred dollars.
